
Kristen Ullrich, Psy.D. teaches and practices Clinical Psychology in the Philadelphia area, acting as a liaison between the clinical and training worlds in her role as the Executive Training Director of the Psychology Internship Consortium within Immaculata University’s Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program (IU-PIC). After studying psychology and counseling at Rutgers University and the University of Colorado at Denver, the first part of her career was spent working as LPC in Denver, Colorado with adolescents in residential and home-based treatments who were suffering the effects of childhood trauma. Kristen returned to education, earning her doctoral degree from Long Island University- Post in New York, followed by internship and postdoctoral positions in a Philadelphia psychiatric hospital. Her current clinical and training focus includes Cognitive Behavioral and Narrative Therapies within Play, particularly with younger children to regulate emotions and improve relationships. She maintains a small outpatient caseload through Equilibria Psychological and Consultation Services in Philadelphia, PA. Kristen continues to engage her interests in Animal Assisted Treatments for trauma through research of therapeutic partnerships involving horses, dogs and cats to improve mental health and quality of life. Writing and conference speaking interests recently have encouraged the mental health community to actively understand biases and be involved in the monitoring of Gen AI platforms aimed at psychologically vulnerable populations.
